Open Water Rowing in a Stunning Location

Celebrate the transition to autumn with a row in a traditional-style wooden dory! Experience the highlights of this gorgeous and vibrant time of year: brilliant foliage reflected in the water, like watercolors, cooler temps...air as crisp as an apple. We'll row either out in Belfast Bay or up the Passagassawakeag River, depending on the tide and weather conditions. DWR offers front row seats to observe abundant wildlife that lives in this watershed this time of year, including a variety of avian life, seals and occasionally otters. Hot cider and baked treats will be served to compliment your experience. You can row or be a passenger. All skill-levels welcome! Bring an autumnal offering to share--a poem, sentiment, song. The Fall Equinox Row is offered September 22-28. This is the PERFECT seasonal outing for pairs and trios; individuals are welcome in a mixed group. Children 10 and up are welcome; under 14 with parental supervision. $100 per person. Your row begins with a safety talk, reviewing the different parts of the boat, going over rowing commands and getting seated properly and comfortably. Lifejackets (PFDs) are required to be worn on the boat and docks in the spring. DWR will provide these--however, if you have your own PFD, please bring it. Dress appropriately for the weather (translation: layers!). Temps vary this time of year and the wind can be brisk. Wear comfortable synthetic, silk or wool clothing clothing, wind resistant outerwear and footwear appropriate for the conditions. Bring water to stay hydrated. Sunscreen is advised. WEATHER AND DWR CANCELLATION POLICY: Safety is DWR's top priority. Rows are weather dependent. DWR will go out in a variety of weather conditions, including light to moderate wind, some chop or swell, fog, rain and snow. DWR's client cancellation policy applies--please review. Cancellation Policy

A client-canceled row that happens 48 hours in advance will receive a full refund; 24 hours in advance, half the fee will be refunded.  Less than 24 hours, day of cancelations or "no-shows" will not be eligible for a refund.  A canceled row may be rescheduled one time.  A cancelation after a row has been rescheduled will not be eligible for a refund. DWR reserves the right to cancel a row at any time, for any reason, generally due to safety concerns. If this is necessary, DWR will make every effort to reschedule the row. If this is not possible, a full refund will be issued. Rows purchased for a particular service cannot be transferred to another service. Purchased Pricing Plans are for the purchaser only--cannot be used for another or transferred to another person. Gift cards can be used for Pricing Plans.
