Come out for a Seaweed Row and Wood-fired Sauna with DoryWoman Rowing during Maine Seaweed Week, April 24-May 3! Learn about Maine's favorite weed and seaweed's importance in Maine's culture and aquaculture industry, while rowing a wooden dory in Belfast Bay. We'll do a row-by of a kelp farm. You'll learn about a variety of seaweed in Maine and enjoy seaweed tea and seaweed-infused treats as part of this experience! Open to all skill-levels. You can row or be a passenger. And this year, follow-up your row with a wood-fired sauna on the Belfast waterfront! Enhance your sauna glow with seaweed scrub and a seaweed mask! Dip in the harbor to rinse off! The Seaweed Row will be offered throughout Seaweed Week, in the morning and late afternoon sessions. This row can be booked privately for two or three people or as a mixed group of individuals. Pricing is $140 for individuals, $265 for two people and $400 for three people. Seaweed treats and treatments are included in the price. Your row begins with a safety talk, reviewing the different parts of the boat, going over rowing commands and getting seated properly and comfortably. Lifejackets (PFDs) are required to be worn on the docks and the boat. DWR will provide these--however, if you have your own PFD, please bring it. Dress appropriately for the weather (translation: layers!). Temps can vary this time of year and the wind can sometimes be brisk. Wear comfortable synthetic, silk or wool clothing clothing, wind resistant outerwear and footwear appropriate for the conditions. Bring water to stay hydrated. DWR WEATHER AND CANCELLATION POLICY: Safety is DWR's top priority. Rows are weather dependent. DWR will go out in a variety of weather conditions, including light to moderate wind, some chop or swell, fog, rain and snow. DWR's client cancellation policy applies--please review. Cancellation Policy
A client-canceled row that happens 48 hours in advance will receive a full refund; 24 hours in advance, half the fee will be refunded. Less than 24 hours, day of cancelations or "no-shows" will not be eligible for a refund. A canceled row may be rescheduled one time. A cancelation after a row has been rescheduled will not be eligible for a refund. DWR reserves the right to cancel a row at any time, for any reason, generally due to safety concerns. If this is necessary, DWR will make every effort to reschedule the row. If this is not possible, a session credit will be offered, good for one year after the row was booked. Rows purchased for a particular service cannot be transferred to another service. Purchased Pricing Plans are for the purchaser only--cannot be used for another or transferred to another person. Gift cards can be used for Pricing Plans.
